Win Thor NFTs in Cinemark and Disney’s Instant Win Competition

The vast majority of free to play games these days are powered by blockchain. Companies like Cinemark and Disney have created a competition in which players can win NFTs for playing their favorite blockbuster movies or theme park attractions. One company is trying to push the boundaries with crypto collectibles, so this topic could be another step towards mainstream adoption.

The “cinemark movie theater” is a new NFT that was released by Cinemark. The item is an Instant Win game and the prize for winning it is a $10,000 USD cash prize.

In order to promote the release of Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, American movie theater operator Cinemark has partnered with Disney to hold a tournament that incorporates NFT.

The contest started on June 28 and will go through July 7, which is the day before the movie’s scheduled premiere. Participants in the competition must visit the rewards page on the Cinemark website or app to get a pin that must be entered on the competition’s website. Participants who enter a winning code will be given another code, which they may use to redeem a special-edition NFT based on the hit movie on NFT platform VeVe.

Each day, winners will be chosen, and there are 1,000 NFTs overall up for grabs (meaning around 100 winners will be selected per day). The notion of fusing digital artifacts with movies has previously been attempted and tested by companies like AMC, a rival chain of movie theaters, which has distributed NFTs for its stockholders as well as for viewers of “The Batman” and “Spiderman: No Way Home.”

The project is also a part of Disney’s larger strategy to transition to next-generation storytelling by integrating material that combines the real, virtual, and digital worlds.
