Upcoming Christie’s NFT Auction to Help Scientific Psychedelic Research

The world of NFTs is expanding, but the field has yet to fully annex a new market that can really use blockchain. One such opportunity comes in the form of Christie’s upcoming auction for psychedelic artworks with proceeds going towards scientific research into MDMA and LSD.

The “nft marketplace” is an upcoming Christie’s auction that will help scientific psychedelic research. The auction will take place in London on November 6th, 2018.

Christie’s, the world’s most prestigious auction house, is developing an NFT collection to assist the advancement of psychedelic research. The collection’s assets will be auctioned off separately, with all revenues going to the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, dubbed ‘Cartography of the Mind’ and developed in collaboration with Ryan Zurrer, creator of Web3 firms Dialectic and Vine Ventures (MAPS).

The collection, which includes over two dozen psychedelic-themed artworks, will be auctioned on Christie’s from June 21st through June 28th. Each of the pieces was created by artists who are also proponents of alternative medicine, such as the ever-present Beeple, Refik Anadol, Mad Dog Jones, and others.

The collection will be shown in an exhibition at Christie’s new galleries on the intersection of 6th Avenue and 49th Street in New York during the bidding window and during NFT NYC.

When the auction concludes, 100% of the proceeds will be contributed to MAPS’ psychedelic and mental health research projects. The NGO will be able to increase its efforts to legalize psychedelic drugs as a way of treating a varied variety of mental diseases that are noticed across the globe thanks to such Web3-funded investments.
