The Decentraland fashion week will be the first major event of its kind. Blockchain technology has been at the forefront as a way to revolutionize how brands and designers interact with their customers, but it’s still in its infancy when it comes to video games. If this precedent is set here, blockchain-powered games are sure to follow suit soon enough.
Despite the fact that Decentraland’s first Metaverse Fashion Week is approaching, the list of prominent donors and participants continues to grow. Tommy Hilfiger is the most recent world-famous apparel business to extend an invitation to the virtual party. The American label has announced that it would utilize the virtual catwalk to show off its Spring 2022 designs, as well as a digital shopping platform including Tommy Hilfiger-designed NFTs.
The brand’s virtual shop will be open for four days during Fashion Week, from March 24th to 27th, and will be located inside Boson Portal, a virtual lifestyle and cultural playground. Fans will be able to buy Tommy Hilfiger wearable NFTs that can be redeemed for tangible merchandise.
Customers will be able to transport their avatar to the virtual store and browse a limited-edition selection of Tommy Hilfiger goods from the Spring 2022 collection. The Tommy Hilfiger NFTs will be available for purchase on the Decentraland marketplace in addition to the Boson Protocol metaverse marketplace.
If, for whatever reason, the classic, preppy-come-casual designs of Tommy Hilfiger are not to your stylistic tastes, there’s no reason to worry, as appearances from the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Selfridges, Jacob & Co, Franck Muller, Garrett Leight, Cavalli, and The Fabricant on Decentraland’s virtual runway will ensure all fashionista kicks are satisfied.
