Metaverse is a blockchain-powered digital open platform for creating and managing decentralized virtual worlds, known as “digital assets”. The company seeks an experienced web3 engineer in preparation to launch the Metaverse public testnet.
Spotify, the world’s biggest music streaming service, has announced intentions to employ a Web3-focused senior backend engineer, hinting to a foray into the metaverse. The Swedish-American firm advertised the job opening on LinkedIn, where the successful candidate will join Spotify’s experimental growth team, which is part of the platform’s freemium offering.
According to the job description, Spotify is still in the early stages of its Web3 endeavour, as the successful candidate will be responsible for exploiting new technologies such as Web3 to identify the next growth opportunity, as well as designing and performing tests on new and current products.
In order to begin diving into NFTs and crypto, the platform is also looking to employ a senior manager in innovation and market intelligence with ‘extensive awareness with new trends,’ particularly those connected to Web3.
The announcement comes as YouTube, Spotify’s partner major entertainment provider, has begun the search for a new director of Web3 product management. As we already know, YouTube’s Web3 investigation is farther along than Spotify’s.
YouTube previously revealed details on how it expects to employ NFTs, as well as a job description for a position to ‘create, articulate, and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Web3 at YouTube,’ implying that a long period of Web3-focused work has already occurred.
