A rare collection of crypto-related items will be going on sale this week, from a 24k gold Bitcoin Trophy to the CryptoPunk artwork responsible for sparking an online meme craze.
The “cryptopunk highest sale” is a rare digital asset that has been sold for over $1,000,000.00 in the past. It is expected to be auctioned off for up to $2 million.
In a sale named ‘Punk It!,’ auction house Sotheby’s is auctioning 104 CryptoPunks NFTs. A single collector owns the NFTs, which make up only 1% of the legendary 10,000-piece collection. They were purchased in July 2021.
The ‘Punk It!’ auction will take place between February 18th and 23rd as part of Sotheby’s Metaverse NFT sales series, and will include additional live activities such as a VIP dinner and a party with a live DJ. Those interested in items from the remarkable NFT lot will be allowed to make cash or crypto bids if Sotheby’s follows their prior auction policies.
If all 104 CryptoPunks are sold, a total of $20-30 million is predicted, which is a respectable sum in the crazy world of NFTs, considering the collection’s status as the first profile image NFT series.
Sotheyby’s previously sold a single CryptoPunk for $11.75 million at an auction in June 2021. Christie’s Auction House, their major rival, has made several notable CryptoPunk sales in the past, including a $17 million sale for a collection of nine Punks in May 2021 and a $12 million sale for a collection of 14 Punks in September 2021.
