Nestlé Launch ‘TRIX Globe’ NFT Collection for Charity

Nestlé will launch a new in-game NFT collection on April 5th, 2018 at the world’s biggest blockchain conference – Consensus. It is also an opportunity for Nestlé to raise money and awareness for its charity partner UNICEF Australia.

Physical collectibles in cereal boxes seem to be a thing of the past, but Nestlé, the creators of breakfast favorites including Shreddies, Cheerios, and Shredded Wheat (as well as a slew of other food and beverage brands), is digitally recreating the notion by unveiling a pair of unique NFTs. All earnings from the project, which will be the company’s first entry into NFTs, will go to the Emirates Red Crescent charity. 

The two-part TRIX Globe NFT collection is inspired by the launch of Nestlé’s TRIX cereal brand in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), meaning the NFTs are part of a narrative which involves the brand’s rabbit mascot hunting for the world’s fruitiest cereals whilst exploring Dubai for the first time. With such premise in mind, both NFTs feature an identical snow globe-inspired aesthetic, with each also sporting a red silhouette of Dubai’s one-of-a-kind Museum of the Future skyline. 

The NFTs are both available for purchase right now (with bids of 0.35 ETH at the time of writing), although one auction will expire on May 5th and the other on May 13th. 

“In line with our promise for ‘Better Lives,’ we are proud to launch the first blockchain-based initiative in the region aimed at a humanitarian cause, with the full proceeds of the TRIX NFTs auction going to the Emirates Red Crescent,” said Emilien Mesquida, a Business Executive Officer at Nestlé in the MENA region.
