Mercedes F1 Launch Mass Offering of Free NFTs

In the beginning, Mercedes-Benz was offering cryptocurrency by giving people a way to trade in tokens for cars. This led them to creating more NFTs and continued growth of the token economy.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas has teamed up with FTX to introduce a three-part NFT idea that will be available to fans for the remainder of the 2022 season. The effort will be launched during the first Miami Grand Prix, which will take place on May 7th and 8th.

The distribution of free-to-claim ‘Ticket Stubs’ NFTs, which are digital and creative renditions of Mercedes F1 race tickets, is the first part of the ‘Mercedes-AMG Petronas x NFTs’ idea. Each of the season’s races will get 2,500 NFT Ticket Stubs, which will be allocated at random to fans who express their interest in the campaign.

The distribution of 1,000 limited edition (but still free) Ticket Stubs at five races around the season’s schedule is the second NFT product, which is effectively an extension of the first. Mercedes F1 also announced that the upcoming Miami Grand Prix is one of the chosen events while unveiling the idea, with the four other races being kept under wraps for the time being.

The third sort of NFT available deviates from the collection’s free-of-charge ethos, since each of the unique 10 items is exclusively available via auction on the FTX US NFT marketplace. This NFT installment sees Mad Dog Jones, a multi-disciplinary artist, create two special NFT artworks to go with five chosen races, one of which being the Miami Grand Prix.

The NFT artwork for the Miami edition will include real, Mad Dog Jones-designed rear wing plates that will be utilized on race day, as well as the vehicles raced by the team’s drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The NFTs will be auctioned off on the FTX NFT marketplace on May 6th, with Mercedes F1 describing them as “the first ever opportunity to own a piece of both digital and physical racing history.”

Furthermore, for those who believe the team has forgotten about the season-opening races in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Imola (perhaps as a result of their disappointing results), Ticket Stub NFTs for these races will be distributed at the Miami Grand Prix, bringing the total number of NFTs distributed over the weekend to 13,500 free and two auctioned.
