Exclusive Interview with NBA Star Lamar Odom & His New NFT Project

As the crypto market continues to grow, NBA stars and athletes are turning their attention towards this new technology. Lamar Odom is one such athlete who recently launched a project of his own called “The Humble Token”. The token has been designed for fans as much as it’s being used by athletes to manage their skills in games like Fortnite and NBA 2K.

Lamar Odom is an American professional basketball player who has a net worth of $45 million. Lamar Odom was born in Queens, New York and attended the University of Rhode Island. He is best known for his time with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2004 to 2012.

Former Laker Lamar Odom was selected NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2011. Odom has had a long and successful career, and it seems that he isn’t done yet. With his latest project “Lamar Odom’s Metaverse,” he just revealed that he will be stepping into the field of NFTs. We got the opportunity to talk with Odom about his intriguing new endeavor.

What is the Metaverse of Lamar Odom?

On OpenSea, Lamar Odom’s Metaverse is a collection of 7,777 NFTs. Exclusive pre-sale access to Lamar Odom’s NFT releases and other partner releases, digital and physical collectibles from Lamar’s original collection, free NBA tickets, opportunities to meet with players, and access to members-only events are just a few of the benefits available to Metaverse members.

People who invite 40 members to Lamar Odom’s Metaverse receive the “MVP” status. MVPs get to show off their status in the project’s Discord, and the first 35 people to achieve this status receive a free NFT. The project aims to give back to the community by airdropping free NFTs to people who bought NFTs early on. Additionally, Lamar Odom’s Metaverse makes charitable donations to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation in honor of Kobe Bryant.

There is currently no restriction on how many Lamar Odom NFTs you can purchase, however this may change in the future.

Interview with Lamar Odom

What drew you to NFTs in the first place?

I was surprised at how these moments are saved and turned into something that people can collect when I saw the NBA Top Shots NFTs. I began researching NFTs and the metaverse concept because I wanted to develop something similar. That’s why I created Lamar Odom’s Metaverse in the first place.

What was it about the Ethereum blockchain that drew you in?

Right present, Ethereum is perhaps the most popular blockchain. I also want to create a social area for sports lovers on platforms such as Decentraland and Sandbox.

What kind of activities will individuals be able to undertake in your metaverse? I want to create a long-term community that is welcoming to everyone, not just sports enthusiasts. Holders of My NFTs get unrestricted access to events held in the social areas. Virtual activities such as basketball games, shows, and concerts will be held. Digital and tangible artifacts from Lamar’s original collection, as well as some of the world’s most well-known IPs, will be available.

Could you elaborate on the project’s altruistic aspect? What prompted you to donate your NFT sales to the Mamba & Mambacita Foundation?

To me, Kobe was everything. On and off the court, he taught me great things, and he is a continuous reminder to me to keep going every day. Every day, I think about him.

By contributing a portion of the revenues from my initiative to Kobe’s foundation, I want to commemorate him and continue what he was doing in aiding neglected players and making an impact. I believe this is something that everyone would want to see.

We notice that you’ll be giving away a lot of NFTs. May you explain how individuals can qualify for these free NFTs in greater detail?

Yes, we are giving a lot of freebies for the project’s early backers. There are many methods to enter the contest; the easiest way to stay informed is to join our discord server. All giveaways are announced on Twitter and Discord by my team.

We have a whitelist to ensure that early backers are assured a position in the mint. Participating in one of our giveaway events or being active on the Discord server may earn you a place on the whitelist. I’m aware of several programs that demand participants to devote a significant amount of time to a whitelist. I don’t want to do that; instead, I want you to go out and enjoy life, participate in sports, and spend time with your family. The majority of our gift chores and Discord ratings are straightforward.

Why is it so important for athletes to adopt NFTs?

Well, I believe it is critical if you have a narrative to tell and want to have a significant influence on your project. Anyone can make an NFT, but it’s the value and purpose behind it that counts.

Anime seems to have affected your NFTs. Are you a fan of anime? If so, which anime is your favorite and why?

I had no idea it resembled anime, but I suppose that’s a compliment? I’m aware that there is a wealth of fascinating anime available, but I’ve never had the opportunity to view it. Do you have any recommendations? Perhaps I’ll have a look at them and include them into my next drop.

Can you tell us more about the characteristics of your NFTs and their rarity?

So my team and I brainstormed all of the concepts and characteristics for the LM collection, which is the first drop. With a cartoon-like collection, we aim to make something enjoyable. A total of 7,777 LM NFTs are available, with 7 of them bearing my signature. I didn’t choose which one to sign; they’ll be chosen at random during the first sale.
