CryptoArt Sundays: Interview with 0euvre AI

CryptoArt Sundays is a new blockchain-powered art project by 0euvre AI that allows creators to sell original pieces of their artwork on the Ethereum blockchain. The entire process from design, production and sale through CryptoArt Sunday’s smart contract has been made possible with an open source code available for artists and developers alike. This week we talk about what this means for the future of cryptoartists like
0euvre AI as well as potential issues in creating sustainable businesses without profit motive.,

Blockchain art is a new type of digital artwork that exists on the blockchain. 0euvre AI, an artist and researcher in the field of digital art, discusses her work with CryptoArt Sundays.

Greetings, and welcome to CryptoArt Sundays! I’ve got a pretty bizarre artist planned up for you all this week. They’re known as 0euvre AI, and they’ve been crushing it with their amazing NFT artworks.

On Solana, 0euvre AI just released an NFT collection of 499 randomly created AI 1/1 pieces, which were all sold out. On Twitter, the artist is known as 0euvre AI (more on this in the interview), but in real life, they are known as Uromancy. Uromancy, based on the east coast of the United States, has been painting on canvas using oil and acrylic for almost a decade.

Let’s get right in and learn more about their most recent project, the NFT space as a whole, and what motivates them to produce these incredible pieces of art!

What drew you to construct your own NFTs and how did you learn about the NFT space?

With the development of CryptoKitties, I first learned about the NFT sector. I felt it was strange that jpegs were so valuable and then went years without interacting. I didn’t start purchasing NFTs until this year, in 2021, and when I did, I became interested in a few AI-based initiatives.

I was previously acquainted with “Deep Dream” and “Style Transfer” Neural Networks, but seeing art created using VQGan and Clip changed everything for me. I began collecting every resource I could find and putting it to the test. I was a moderator for an AI project that “rugged” by claiming that their project was merely “curating” art using AI, rather than “making” art with AI, as everyone assumed.

We discovered evidence that the photographs were stolen from other artists and were not copyrighted. I made it apparent that I was unaware of this, and I joined a separate Discord with many of the folks who had joined the aforementioned initiative. There, I presented some of the art I’d been working on, received encouragement from others, and created a team to build a new project called 0euvre AI using the art I’d been working on. So, instead of being disappointed, I was able to turn it into an opportunity to create something wonderful!

How frequently do you make something?

I would say once or twice a month in regular life, but for this project, I have made it a full-time job for almost a month (on top of having a full-time day job). I’ve been working on them for 8 hours a day, every day, with no days off.

How do you go about coming up with ideas?

Because we’re utilizing an AI to create art based on text prompts for this project, I’ve collected renowned quotations, mythical tales, and attempted to explain situations that I can see in my brain so that the AI can comprehend and paint a picture. Because I want to provide value to this effort, I’ve curated the findings and discarded some that I don’t believe work well enough.

Do you have any CryptoArtists with whom you’d want to collaborate?

ContrastiveNFT and CosmicCrypto have done some fantastic AI work!

What do you believe CryptoArt’s future will be like?

I believe there is still a long way to go, but as the focus shifts away from PFPs, I believe we will see a lot more creativity.

What are you working on right now?

I’m now working on getting the mint ready for the 0euvre AI collection, but I’m also working on a second collection that will be airdropped to people who buy this one. I want to build this collection based on user feedback, so owners of the 0euvre AI collection may tell me what they want to see, and I’ll attempt to produce it for them using AI. Right now, I’m thinking about providing this to up to 50% of 0euvre AI owners!

What are the locations where collectors may locate your work?

We’ll be minting on Solana on November 11th, and we’ll share the URLs on Twitter and the website.
