Animoca Partner with ‘Play Magnus’ to Launch Chess Into the Metaverse

Magnus is a chess engine that uses machine learning and AI to analyze, evaluate, and play chess games. It creates high-quality game positions with limited human oversight. Magnus has partnered with Animoca Brands on their upcoming blockchain powered strategy game, “Play Magnus” that will be released in China on November 12th

Chess is coming to the metaverse thanks to Animoca Brands’ new collaboration with Play Magnus Group (PMG). The gaming behemoth will use its companies Lympo and The Sandbox to incorporate the popular board game into web3 ongoings through numerous streams.

PMG is a well-established chess firm, with millions of players and students enjoying its play and instructional services. It was founded by Magnus Carlsen, the GOAT of chess. The new agreement will extend the platform’s reach into the infinite world of the metaverse, where top gamers will have access to rich revenue opportunities.

PMG’s foray into the metaverse will be spearheaded by Lympo, which will create a one-of-a-kind NFT collection, a blockchain-inspired chess game, and social tokens to accompany the forthcoming Champions Chess Tour. In addition, the business will develop custom-designed, animated NFT collections featuring world-class chess players like as Carlsen, Anish Giri, and Hans Niemann.

Sandbox fans should also prepare their chess pieces, as the popular platform will be the site of PMG’s future virtual Champion Chess Tour.
