The Sandbox x MoCDA Exhibition features two separate competitions designed to introduce the public to new use cases for Non-Fungible Tokens and their existing applications. The first is a mass participation “Sandboxing” competition that will award 10,000 $SAND tokens in total prize pool.
The Museum of Contemporary Digital Art (MoCDA) will open two art exhibitions in The Sandbox’s metaverse throughout the months of June and July.
Filippo Lorenzin’s ‘Revisiting the Future: What Will Come as Dreamed by Digital Artists’ and Tom Van Avermaet’s ‘Impossible Worlds’ are the two shows in question. From June 10th to June 24th, the former will be on display, while the latter will be on display from June 24th to July 8th.
As the title indicates, Lorenzin’s exhibition looks at the many ways in which artists of our generation might affect future advancements in society, technology, and art, just as our forefathers’ work created contemporary civilization.
‘Impossible Worlds,’ a curated display with pieces by Lumps, Jenni Pasanen, Giant Swan, Nicebleed, and others, is similar in that it is based on surrealism. Each work is a one-of-a-kind digital representation of an imagined dreamland in which characters, colors, and context are not constrained by human logic.
By submitting their favorite work of art here, community members who connect with MoCDA, an organization that promotes a broad spectrum of digital artists via a variety of creative forms, will be eligible to win a reward of $200 $SAND. A total of 10,000 $SAND is up for grabs, which means there will be 50 winners.
